Summer is Ending (As Far As We Know)

September is here! Last year, summer was extended as it was still warm in September. Some people call it the Indian Summer, and I’m not really sure how did the name come to be. An Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere.

I’ve gone to the beaches in this part of the French Riviera during summer, and to the lakes including the one in Italy when I had the chance to visit my friends in the Lombardy region. It was nice when you spend it with friends, but sometimes, I miss the beaches that I was used to while growing up in Palawan, in the Philippines.

It’s been raining for the past days, which is a welcome occurrence for almost everyone since it has been a really warm summer. But then there were places in French Riviera has been flooded, a familiar scene for me in the Philippines, and I hope the people affected will get the help they need and will be fine soon.

So, what’s next ? Cool weather is coming soon, in between the hot and rainy episodes, but it is coming. Autumn and Spring are my favorite seasons, and that’s because I sleep better under the sheets, and I like walking around without the discomfort of the hot sun.

What about you? What’s your favorite season?
